The ARS, Bentota emphasizes to develop rice varieties for the flood prone and saline areas conducting station and field research activities as farmer participatory programmes. In addition to the ongoing research programme, the progrommes on organic rice culture covering seed production (traditional and new improved varieties) and development of appropriate technologies on organic fertilizer and plant protection were continued at Bombuwela.
