he House of E. B. Creasy was founded in 1878 by Edward Bennet Creasy and incorporated as a limited liability company in 1929 - becoming quoted in the local stock exchange in 1968. The company is among the pioneers of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce having joined in 1890, while Darley Butler – a wholly owned subsidiary- enjoys the distinction of being one of the three oldest members since 1852. Over the years E. B. Creasy has expanded by organic growth as well as by strategic acquisitions and now constitutes a diversified group spanning a wide spectrum of activities ranging from import – export - distribution and freight forwarding to formulating and trading in chemicals - hoteliering and plantation management. The Marketing Division represents several well known brands including 3K Batteries - TOA Paints both from Thailand and MARQUIS Water Pumps - CMEC Generators - KIPOR Generators & Fork Lifts from China, HYUNDAI Photo Voltaic Modules from Korea and Aurora Power One Grid Tied Inverters from Italy. The Consumer Product Manufacturing Division produces a range of disposable razors - tooth brushes - tooth paste - ball point pens and mosquito coils which are market leaders.
