Welcome to the Lanka Children’s and Youth Theatre Foundation (LCYTF), home to the enchanting Somalatha Subasinghe Play House. Since our establishment in 1981 by the visionary Mrs. Somalatha Subasinghe, we have been the vanguard of professional theatre in Sri Lanka.

Creative Activities for Children Programme (CAC-Prog)

The prime objective of the programme is to develop child’s mental and physical aspects and to enhance artistic taste, cheerfulness and playful sense of the child through aesthetic experiences.

Certificate in Acting programme

The objective of the programme is to equip participants with foundational knowledge and skills in acting, directing, script writing and dance/musical theatre

LCYTF offers programs for a range of age groups. The Creative Activities for Children program is designed for children aged four and a half to twelve. Drama Beyond the Classroom primarily targets students from grade seven to G.C.E. O/L. The Certificate in Acting Program is open to participants looking to delve into the world of acting, regardless of age.
