Mr. Thusitha P. Wanigasinghe as the New Chairman of NHRDC
Mr. Thusitha P. Wanigasinghe has been appointed as the new Chairman of the NHRDC, following the announcement by Hon. Dinesh Gunawardena, Prime Minister and Minister of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils, and Local Government. He officially assumed his duties on January 2, 2023. Mr. Wanigasinghe, a retired Special Grade officer of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service (SLAS), brings a wealth of experience, having served as the former Chief Secretary of the Eastern Province and District Secretary in multiple districts.
Expressing gratitude to the Hon. Prime Minister for the opportunity to contribute to the country's advancement, Mr. Wanigasinghe considers it a privilege to take on this role during challenging times. In his capacity as the Chairman of NHRDC, he aims to continue steering the organization towards making a substantial impact on the development of the country's human resources. Leveraging his extensive experience in the public sector and strong leadership skills, he looks forward to collaborating closely with all stakeholders to ensure NHRDC plays a pivotal role in cultivating exceptional individuals, contributing to the growth of a prosperous nation.
NHRDC Engages in Introductory Meeting with BIMSTEC Secretary General
In a landmark diplomatic engagement, the National Human Resource Development Council (NHRDC) of Sri Lanka recently met with His Excellency Indra Mani Pandey, the Secretary General of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC). Secretary General Pandey's visit, which took place from April 8th to 10th, 2024, marked a significant milestone in fostering regional cooperation within the BIMSTEC framework.
The National Human Resources Development Council of Sri Lanka is an institution established to perform an important role of work under the Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government.
It takes responsibilities for work such as assisting to implement the policies pertaining to Human Resources Development and by giving priority in all the activities of Human Resources Development under the powers vested upon the said institute.
