Improvements - in the restaurant area, coffee and tea making facilities to be a bit more secure and spacious. To cater more for western tastes as opposed to locals - ie more cereals and yogurts. At time a bit too tight for numbers.
Pay more attention to health and safety around the tea/coffee area. Milk gets very hot, better signs to indicate this.
When floors are being mopped, to use wet floor sign so people are aware.

Colombo is now getting better after a recession few years back. They are on a speedy recovery. There are lots of places you can visit for sightseeing. If you are going on a business trip, Colombo is an ideal space for staying as they have all the good locations (especially importers and huge markets). Better book private hire through a car company, it's way cheaper if you want to explore the city. Walking is also a good option.

Beautiful city with clean and green infrastructure.
Beautiful city with clean and green infrastructure. Recommended for Indians to visit. Shopping was good (Visited - One face mall, City Center mall, Havalock city mall). Galle face location was great to spend some time with family. Independent square, Gangarama Buddhist temple, Lotus tower tourist spots were nice. 2 days is enough to cover Colombo city.

Havelock Garden BNB is very modern with a very pleasing aesthetic feel. It was spacious and had all the amenities you could possibly need. Great location with some great finds on your door step. Bus service, tuk tuks, shopping Mall, with a free ATM outside (inside charges) Sim card shop 50 metres away apx - end of the road. Sky Bar with infinity pool called Me Bar. Great to watch the city light up and it is happy hour 5-7pm - walking distance . To mention but a few. The housekeeper goes above and beyond to ensure you have a comfortable stay and her Sri Lanken Breakfast is delicious and will set you up for the day. We could also have an english breakfast if desired. We would most definitely stay again.

The city is busy with chaotic traffic.
The city is busy with chaotic traffic. On the night of the 25th city roads from Colombo 3 to Fort were closed and we did not know. When we got a taxi (Uber and Taxis were not able to reach us) they charged 6 times more than the usual fare. The tuk-tuks often charge foreigners very high fees. Make sure you get into one with a functional meter. There are good places to eat. Don't eat street food because their hygiene habits are questionable. Colombo is reported as a dengue-prone area. So use mosquito repellent. During December, there weren't many. Ask the hotel you stay for taxis or use their local Pickme app. Yet it is often wise to check the agreed fee. Otherwise they charge much higher.
Fantástic stay here, location is absolutely perfect - right on the beach and well positioned to see and do everything you would want to do in Hikkaduwa. Airport transfers were handled perfectly, and staff are really nice guys, and were extremely accomodating with any requests I had.
Rooms were large, clean, comfortable and very quiet at night. The hotel bar/dining area is right on the sea, with lovely views morning and night. I totally recommend this hotel for your stay! Thanks again Indika!
Stayed here for a night after a few weeks of travelling for some comfort and luxury, staff were great and helped with everything we asked for. There was an extensive breakfast provided, with European/continental and Sri Lankan/Indian options available.
The hotel is located on the lakeside and makes for a very peaceful location with great sunset in the early evening. Located about 10 minutes walk from Port train station and equally walk able to Port and some great restaurants and bars.
We spend 2 days in Ellen's Place just after landing in Colombo. It's a really great place to start Your journey in Sri Lanka.
Rooms are big and nice, staff is very friendly and helpful.
It is not located in centre so tuktuk is useful to get eg to National Museum (no problem to get one); also You don't have many restaurants around but staff can organize a lovely dinner in hotel.
Overall - if You're looking for a peaceful stay in Colombo - very recommended.
The location near the old Dutch Hospital is perfect for exploring the city, and there's some lovely bars and restaurants nearby. The hotel staff were super helpful in getting cabs or tuk-tuks, and there is a lovely bar on the roof that does brilliant cocktails. They also offer a great early check-in service if you're using Colombo as a stop before exploring other parts of the country which was so welcome for us. A great stay, and would definitely choose again.
We visited Colombo for the last two nights of our journey to Sri Lanka and C1 was a good choice in the midrange sector. It is a mix of hotel and hostel, located in a quiet side street of the historic fort area. Location is excellent, all sights of fort are close by and it’s just a short walk to the main railway station and the very busy Pettah business district. Our hotel room was spacious, staff was friendly, we did not have breakfast at the hotel.
We had only half a day to explore colombo. The location of the hotel is the best part of this hotel. It is located adjacent to old dutch hospital shopping precinct where world famous restaurant 'Ministry of crab' is located and it is also at walking distance of galle face green. All touristy must see places are in vicinity of this hotel. Airport is just 25 min from this hotel. For short stay, this place bang on the buck for your money's worth.
Brand new hotel! Amazing stay and modern design.
Just meters away from the Hilton, Marriot, and big hotel chains in Colombo. A lot of restaurants next door [literally]. Safe area guard also by the the army.
Breakfast was continental and tasty. I recommend all guest coming to Colombo to trust me and stay here. It was my fist time in Sri Lanka [I am from Bolivia] and we hit the jackpot with this hotel in all senses.
It’s a contemporary B&B property with 3 levels, and centrally located in Colombo city. There are food options easily available with Uber eats. The room was very clean and tastefully done with fresh towels and linen. It’s a quite peaceful location. Ms Sharma who us the caretaker at the B&B was very accommodating and prepared us the best Sri Lankan breakfast
The hotel is located not so far from Pettah.
The guy at the reception was kind and ready to help us. The room was quite normal size and the bed was comfortable. There is a kettle with tea and coffee as well as 2 bottle of water for free.
Generally it was clean room and wc.
A good option with effordable price to stay for short time in Colombo.
This place is a very good choice for a stay in Colombo.
The villa is a very qiet place, you´ll meet a very friendly team and the rooms are nice, modern with a traditional touch. Good Wifi!
Try the Sri Lankan breakfast!
Best places for sunset: Mount Lavinia Beach or Galle Face Hotel.
We will definitely come back next time.
- spotless room with A/C and clean bathroom
- good location on busy Galle Rd (close by to the bakery Green Cabin for good snacks and Pilawoos for dinner)
- a little expensive for Sri Lanka in generell, but good value for Colombo
- arranged airport taxi perfectly on time
With a beautiful sea view and magnificent architecture this hotel is a must stay place in Colombo. The rooms were really cozy and elegant with full windows on the view side. The Japanese restaurant on top is awesome and had the best sushi's in Lanka maybe.
One of the most pleasant stays I have ever had in a Colombo hotel. The room was comfortable, although not all rooms are the same.
staff throughout the hotel consistently courteous and hospitable. Special thanks to all the staff who served us.
Thos was second stay at C1 Colombo Fort. Spacious, comfortable dorms. Immaculate common areas with a hotel vibe. Friendly, helpful staff. Well situated within walking distance to train station, and a range of restaurants.
Great location, close to many main attractions of colombo, good facilities, great view of lake from swimming pool, good breakfast.. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful.. Specially Supun at main reception..
The hotel is located in a central area.
It is good for short stay like we did after we reached in Colombo then to run away from there.
Staff is kind, like everywhere in Sri Lanka.
This was easily the best hotel we stayed at in Sri Lanka. Service was great, rooms were clean and conformable, buffet breakfast was delicious, location was convenient.
