Nutrition Society of Sri Lanka was established 1972 and incorporated by the Parliamentary Act No 5 (1985) of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. The aim of the Nutrition Society is to establish links between nutritionists in the Sri Lanka in order to promote the science of nutrition and its application to the health of the population in the country. Highly regarded by the scientific community, Nutrition Society is the learned society for nutrition. Nutrition Society will encourage continuing nutrition education and training in the country so as to promote the highest possible level of research and practical innovations. Membership of the Society is open to applicants who can demonstrate ‘a genuine interest in the science of human nutrition’.
