The farm was handed over to the NLDB consequently to a policy decision during 1992. At the time of taking over of this farm it was not making profits and was in a neglected state and the pasture fields were reverting back to jungle. After the takeover of this farm the buildings were repaired and unproductive cattle and buffaloes in the farm were disposed and a definite program was drawn up for the development of this farm.
New Goat sheds were constructed along with a poultry unit to produce eggs and broilers. Further, a cashew plantation was also commenced at Mahapallessa Division.
