Midaya is a ceramics shop with affordable cups, bowls, plates and various ceramic things.
We once walked into the Midaya shop thinking it had chocolates, which it doesn't. This storefront on the corner of Union Place and Dawson Street has a range of rather affordable and high quality ceramics ranging from the usual coffee mugs (Rs. 300) to big ducks (Rs. 2,500).
Midaya is primarily an export company. Some of the stuff is branded (presumably made here) and we checked it out online. At Midaya a Hannah Turner mug sells for Rs. 300 (or 350, don't quite remember) compared to £13.99 (about Rs. 2,600) online. So, not a bad deal.
They have a range of pasta, sugar and spice holders, soap dispensers, etc. Big serving bowls cost around Rs. 1,200 and you can get little ceramic doll type things for RS. 200. We got some coffee mugs, they seem pretty solid, were certainly affordable.
