The Castle Street Hospital for Women is the premier women?? hospital in Sri Lanka. Able to serve a wide array of services to women, it currently has a strength of 442 beds. It provides services to expecting mothers, gynecological patients, sub fertile patients and neonates. The hospital performs more than 16000 deliveries per year. It also has one of the largest neonatal units in Sri Lanka. The hospital is a tertiary care teaching hospital and is a forerunner in training health staff.
The Castle Street hospital has a 24h OPD with number of clinics for follow up visits for patients. More than 100000 patients visit the hospital clinics every year. OPD & Emergency Care Services

Castle Street Hospital for Women provides Antenatal clinics, Gynaecology clinics, Well ??Women clinics, Well- baby clinics and reproductive health clinics. In addition hospital conducts special clinics to patients who are suffering from medical conditions and clinics for neonatal eye screening. In our Antenatal clinics advance bookings are accepted in order to make ease for the mothers to come to clinic. The medical staff of the relevant wards headed by the consultant conducts these clinics.
Neonatology Units with Special Baby Care Unit
A well-equipped Neonatology Unit with an Intensive Care Unit for neonates is functioning at maximum capacity in order to provide best possible services to the needy neonates. Unit is headed by a consultant paediatrcian and a consultantant neonatologist, supported by 20 medical officers and nursing staff.
Intensive Care Unit
